alchimy_l2 is the fixed version of alchimy_l released in late 2002. This updated version was released in 2005 and features important entity fixes that enable smoother gameplay.

• Resup lasers now provide an instant resup with almost a 100% success rate.
• Resup doors now open at the same speed as shutdown2 - faster than the previous version.

alchimy_l2 is a very balanced map that has everything to make it a very enjoyable map. Offense have plenty of room to conc, and many tricks can be performed. There are ramp slides into the flag room, there are ramp slide sin the flag room, there are balc to balc concs and there are double concs everywhere.

Defense positions generally revolve around:

• Your best soldier at the ramp
• Your second best soldier at balcony resup
• Hwguy on the flag ramp, watching water/ramp/balc incs and working with the engi
• Engineer on the fence in the flagroom working with the hwguy

Soldiers get resups, corridors and a ramp, and offense get ramps and room to conc - a combination not often seen. Scores on alchimy_l2 are generally around the 50-100 mark, depending on the ability of the offense to conc effectively. Solo's are not uncommon on alchimy_l2 and can quickly swing the lead from one team to another.

There arent too many people who dont enjoy playing alchimy_l2, however those that dont tend to play offense and struggle with the concs which can make it hard. Failure to hit the ramp slides to get past soldiers will result in frustration :P.

laggy on some (crap) PCs and blocking between both sides attackers is quite annoying. other than that, enjoyable.

Perhaps you misunderstand what an awesome solo is on alchimy

(see meist's double conc from water or conc from lower and grabbing flag off point, out top)

Don't remember meist's double but the latter happens pretty often (and isn't too hard), man.

no (kam), not grabbing flag off point from top. attacking ramp, and concing from the lower part of the flagroom and picking it up off the point on the way up in the conc (as opposed to attacking top and getting it on the way down - easy and happens often) have seen this happen only a handful of times. It's quite difficult too ;o

the actual conc isn't difficult but getting past ramp defence (and in position to conc) and not dying from the SG when you're about to escape are hard.

ye the conc isn't hard, its the whole deal of taking down ramp solly + avoiding sg and hw fire... alot harder than doing it from top :X

lol, soloing it form bottom is harder > soloing from top (basically wha tur saying spec). saying that its easy to solo from bottom is just bs, maybe in div2, but not against someone with a clue
