Koochy and the rest of the lads at "team destroy" (6v6 clan) have team'd together to design, and construct an amazingly great map called
destroy_l.
First of all, this map has gone through some serious concept ideas. Theres been alot of thought put into it to make it a great new map rather than just a new map. The attention to detail has started from the concept drawings through to the construction.
With the major aspect of the map being a focus on offense rather than your typical defense (ramp with resup, sol at top lift with resup etc), the final product has turned out offense orientated in a low scoring map (depending on skills obv).
The outside of the base has a real conc map feel to it which is perfect as most offense conc between bases.. so why not make the 2 second trip enjoyable :d? The middle tunnel has an underground path or an over the top path which takes you through to the balcony. Outside the base near the SHAMELESS plug of team destroy (<3) there is the noise of birds chirping quietly as you gaze up at the cute medic :d
When you enter the base theres 2 paths, left to the sec, (which eventually leads to the flag) or right straight to the flag. The left path has 1 ramp and the right path has a possible 3-4 ramp slides from 1 conc :d.
To get sec down, you must take the left path, get up the ramp and hit the switch. A good conc can get you sliding ramp, over lift and into flag room :O. With the sec now down, its time to get the flag out. The flag room has 1 bag for resup, but it dont give much! Better have a good relationship with your engi if u want armour :d. OR.. with the sec down you can go right, and hit as many ramp slides as possible to get to flagroom. Super important not to dm here as the soldier will just respawn top ramp.
Attention to detail puts Koochy right up there with some of the best map makers. Details in the roof where it can be plain, sounds of birds outside, spawns, custom titles when u cap/drop/spawn etc etc can all be seen in this map. Even when you choose pyro you end up in a little room just for pyros! With no weapons and no escape ~ HEH. This little room is in the middle of the map and has a glass panel where you can see the goings on above.
Great for 2v2, 6v6 and 8v8. Scores are at around 50ish so caps arent that high, which is good, but the map isnt lockdown. Because if one entrance isnt working, offense can rape the other. Typically, going via security is the best option until the flag is near the main ramp. Defense can respond with a fatty at either ramp, or in the fr, a demo on the flag or another sol. Theres alot of variety that can occur and its a top little map made by a top local _b.
